Participating in DanceSport competitions is a great way for you to continually challenge yourelf and test your skills.  Remember that improvement should not be based solely on results.  By setting your own personal goals for each and every competition, you will have a more accurate measure of your own improvement and success.

Here are a list of competitions that are mostly relevant to Canadian or North American dancers, especially on the West Coast.  Feel free to contact us if you'd like more information about any of the following competitions.  We may be able to provide insider information about certain competitions i.e. how well-organized they are, how small or big the competition has been in the past, etc.

 

2003

  • August 28-31:  Embassy Ball, Irvine, CA

  • September 2-6, United States DanceSport Championships,     Miami, FL

 

  • September 13, 2003:  IDSF World Senior Standard
       Championships, Czech Republic

    • Jackson & Candy and George & Debbie will be representing Canada at the World Senior Standard Championships.  Good luck guys!  Make Canada and DanceSport BC proud!

     

  • September 20, 2003:  IDSF World Latin Championships,
       St. Petersburg, Russia

    • Dimitri & Katie Ilyushenov and Christian Millette & Claudia Primeau-Sauve will be representing Canada at the World Latin Championships.  Good luck guys!  Make Canada proud!

     

  • October 3-4, 2003:  IDSF Canada DanceSport, Kingston,    
       ON

  • October 2003:  Ontario Open, Toronto, ON

  • October 18, 2003:  Wild Rose Ball, Calgary, AB

 

  • November 15, 2003:  IDSF World Standard
       Championships, Vienna, Austria

    • Joel Marasigan & Clara Shih and Alex Chalkevitch & Larissa Kerbel are representing Canada at the World Standard Championships.  Good luck guys!  Make Canada proud!

     

  • November 2004:  Ohio Star Ball, Columbus, OH

  • November 28-30, 2004:  California Star Ball, Costa Mesa,
       CA

  • December 6, DanceSport for Charities, Toronto, ON

  • February  6-8, 2004:  IDSF Snowball Classic, Vancouver,
       BC

    • This is a very prestigeous event that is televised on W Network.

  • February 21, 2004: Winter Classic, Calgary, AB

  • March  2004:  Trillium Cup, Toronto, ON
